Making a wrapped loop in jewelry wire using common jewelry tools:
Making a wrapped loop in a critical skill in making jewelry with jewelry wire and beads. This technique allows jewelry crafters to make and connect wire components securely without soldering or casting. In fact, this technique has come to define the craft of wireworking, which is essentially making jewelry with wire and beads without soldering. Making wrapped loops is a jewelry making technique that is used to securely connect one or more beads to an earring, or to connect one or more beads in a chain used for a bracelet or necklace.
In the craft of wire working, jewelry components are usually connected either by using open loops, or by using wrapped loops. Open loops is an effective way to connect wire components, but the resulting piece of jewelry will not be as strong or as permanent as it would if the components had been connected by wrapped loops. The wrapped loop makes a premanent connection that won't pull apart.
