2004 Nov 28

WigJig Jewelry Tools Presents our Jewelry Making Newsletter for Nov. 28, 2004:

We have added a link to our Web Site that lets everyone know when we will be doing shows for 2005.  All of the dates for these shows are not finalized, but as they are, we will post them.  You can visit this web page showing our 2005 show schedule here.  Please note that our next show will be the "Best Bead Show" in the Kino Senior Citizens Center in Tucson, AZ for February 2nd through 6th.  We hope that those of you in Tucson for the International Gem and Jewelry Show will be able to stop by.  We will be demonstrating at the Soft Flex Booth.  You can view the hours for this show here.  Please note that there is also a Best Bead Show II, but we will not be providing demonstrations of our WigJig tools there.

We are no longer selling our Wire Design Projects or our Wire Design Techniques CDs as we have sold our entire inventory and do not intend to reorder.  We now have the ability to sell a CD of our entire WigJig web site as of October 1, 2004, including access to all of our online books.  There are over $85 worth of online books and over 2,000 web pages on this CD.  This product is focused on people who have a slow Internet connection and have trouble browsing our web site.  At present we do not advertise this product, other than via this newsletter.  This CD will sell for $59.95 and can not be combined with any other order as we make this CD in our office and ship it directly to the customer from our office (not our warehouse).  This is a limited offer.  It is not available in our Internet store.  If you would like to purchase this CD, please send an e-mail to info@wigjig.com with your telephone number and a suggested time to call.  This CD will be shipped internationally via Global Priority Mail.  Shipping will be approximately $10 for International orders.

Jewelry Making Supplies On Sale:

We update the jewelry supplies that we have "On Sale" with every newsletter.  A small sample of the products we have for sale at discounted prices are shown below.  Please click on any of the text below the pictures to view our entire list of sale items.  Select the picture itself to view that specific item in our Internet store.  This sale will be effective through December 10, 2004 or until we run out of that item.

Free Jewelry Making Design:

With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is design for the Duplex Bracelet with Beads shown at right.  This bracelet is similar to many of our Chained Jewels designs, but uses a wire component made in our WigJig Delphi, Centaur, Olympus or Olympus-Lite to allow us to make a double bracelet, but using a normal clasp.  We also include a pattern for making a three level bracelet using similar wire components.  Instructions for making this bracelet with matching earrings can be found here.  This bracelet and earrings set makes an excellent Christmas present, but if you see my sister, please don't mention this as it would spoil the surprise.

Past Jewelry Making Techniques:

We maintain a techniques web page that provides links to the discussion of techniques in our prior newsletters.  You can visit this web page here.  Follow the links on that page to the discussion of the technique in that newsletter.

Jewelry Making Technique:

This weeks jewelry technique is a review of the techniques for minimizing the tool marks on your jewelry wire components.  Among other things to do or consider are using Fine Step Jaw Pliers jewelry tool and/or Round/Flat pliers to make loops without marking the wire.  The flat jaw of these pliers spreads the gripping force out so that it does not mark the wire.  The round jaw will mark the wire, but it will be on the inside of the loop where it can not be seen.

We have added to our Beginners section that describe four steps to helping minimize tools marks on wire components.
