2004 Dec 26

WigJig Jewelry Tools Presents our Jewelry Making Newsletter for Dec. 26, 2004:

The holiday season is a good time to consider contributions to charity.  We support the American Cancer Society and a religious project in Haiti with discounted purchasing of supplies for making jewelry.  Both the Cancer Society and the project in Haiti make jewelry to sell to help raise funds.  We also contribute jewelry that we have made to a battered women's shelter in our local area.  Making jewelry for sale in a fund raiser or to be given as a gift, can be an excellent way to help in your own community.

One final note on the passing of Glenn Helwig.  We were to learn well after his death that he had colon cancer.  Unfortunately, his doctor did not insist that he have a colonoscopy.  Had he had a colonoscopy five years earlier, his cancer could have been caught and easily treated.  Armed with this knowledge, our family has scheduled colonoscopies for all of us over 50.  If you are over 50 and have not had a colonoscopy, please schedule this procedure.  As we learned the hard way, it really can save your life.

Jewelry Making Supplies On Sale:

We update the jewelry supplies that we have "On Sale" with every newsletter.  A small sample of the products we have for sale at discounted prices are shown below.  Please click on any of the text below the pictures to view our entire list of sale items.  Select the picture itself to view that specific item in our Internet store.  This sale will be effective through January 7, 2005 or until we run out of that item.

Free Jewelry Making Design:

With every newsletter we provide a new jewelry design from WigJig University to spur the creative juices.  The new design for this newsletter is the design for the Deluxe Duplex Bracelet and Triplex Bracelet shown at right.  Our WigJig professional jewelry critic (my wife) says that this is the nicest bracelet that I have made.  It takes about two hours to make a bracelet like this, but if you like is as much as our critic, it may be worth the investment in time.  This design is a slightly more advanced modification to our earlier Duplex Bracelet.  This is an intermediate jewelry making project.  It is not appropriate for beginners.   Select here to view our instructions for making these Deluxe Duplex Beaded Bracelets.
