Step-by-step instructions for making the Three Loop Earrings out of jewelry wire, and beads using WigJig jewelry tools.

Step 1:  Cut and straighten a 4 inch piece of 18G jewelry wire.  For these earrings any wire will do.  For a beginner, these earrings are easier to make in soft jewelry wire.

Step 2:  Make a loop in one end of this jewelry wire.  Because this loop will be cut off of the finished earrings this can be a 1/2 loop.  It doesn't need to be closed.  This saves a small amount of wire.

Step 3:  Place one metal peg, two 3/16" Super Pegs and one 5/16" Super Peg in your WigJig jewelry tool as shown at right.

Step 4:  Place the loop in your jewelry wire on the metal peg at bottom, right of the pattern and wrap the wire around the pegs as shown at right.  The wire starts at bottom, right and ends at bottom left.  Once this wrap is completed, remove the wire from the WigJig jewelry tool and gently squeeze it flat.

Step 5:  Now grasp the vertical "legs" of this jewelry wire component at the bend created by the 3/16" Super Peg, with your bent chain nose pliers.  Your pliers should be just below the bend on the straight wire segment.  Use the thickness of the jaws of your bent chain nose pliers as a measuring point.  Grasp the wire at the same point in the jaws of your pliers on both "legs" of the wire component and bend the wire horizontal.  By holding the jewelry wire at the same point in the jaws of your pliers, the vertical wire length below the bend created by the 3/16" Super Pegs is identical.  When completed, the wire should appear as shown at right.

Step 6:  Using your round nose pliers, grasp the wire near the bend you just created, but on the horizontal segment of wire.  Now make a loop at this point.  Do this on both sides of the jewelry wire component.  When completed, your wire component should appear as shown at right.

Step 7:  Using your flush cutter, cut the excess wire on both sides.  Then using your bent chain nose pliers, close the loops that you just completed.  The wire component should now appear as shown at right.

Step 8:  This step is optional, but recommended.  Cut and straighten a 2 inch piece of 22 or 24G jewelry wire.  Bend this smaller wire around the 18G wire in the wire component that you just made at the point where the wire crosses itself at the bottom of the loop made around the 5/16" Super Peg.  Wrap the 22 or 24 G jewelry wire around the 18G jewelry wire this point three times with the ends of the finer gauge wire at the bottom of the loop.  Cut the excess fine gauge wire and using your bent chain nose pliers, squeeze the ends so that they lie flat and inconspicuous.

Step 9:  Using 6mm beads and head-pin findings, attach bead dangles to each lower loop in the wire component.  For larger, more ornate earrings make more complex bead dangles.  These bead dangles can include many beads with coordinated colors.

Step 10:  Open the loop in your ear wire finding and attach the 18 G wire component that you just completed.

Now make your second earring using the same steps defined above.  You can make your earrings a mirror image of one another by carefully selecting the orientation of the wire component as you connect it to the ear wire finding.
