In the Washington, DC area there is a radio talk show host who
is going to be
leaving his radio show soon. He decided that he
wanted to choose his departure gift from his "loyal fans".
On his radio show he
requested men's necklaces for himself. He wanted inexpensive
necklaces like the beaded necklaces he wore as
a young
man. Being
a loyal fan,
and since beads are something that we can do, I volunteered to make some necklaces for
him. I had actually been considering writing a
letter telling him how much I enjoyed his show. Instead of a letter, I
decided to send these four necklaces.
This
wasn't the first request I had received for jewelry projects for men, it
was just the first request that came with an inspiration on what to do.
On the right you can view the necklaces that were sent to to the talk
show host.
The top three are what I wanted to send, because I like the beads, the
size and the style of the necklaces. The bottom necklace design is
the type that I thought he actually requested.
WigJig
sells the beads used in the top three necklaces. I had to go to
Michael's to get the beads for the bottom necklace.
