Watch Band using Wire Wrapped Chain Bracelet with Beads Jewelry Making ProjectYou can view our watch band at right.  The watch we chose to make this watch band was our item 3228 from our Internet store.   The links connecting to the watch on either side of the watchband are made in the same manner is this new chain with the exception that instead of using step jaw pliers in step 11 to make the "U" shaped bend, we inserted the wire into the holes on either side of the watch and bent the wire using our fingers into the shape shown.  From that point, we assembled this chain in the same manner as documented in the prior pages.  Wire Wrapped Chain Earring with Beads Jewelry Making Project

We could have completed the entire watch band using links of this new chain, but for variety, we connected links of the new chain with wrapped bead links to make the watchband.  Making these wrapped bead links is identical to the approach used in the first bracelet discussed starting on page 2.

Another alternative design is to use this wire wrapped chain to make a simple earring.  The earring shown at left is a shoulder duster chandelier earring.  This length may not be appropriate for everyone.  A very similar earring could be made with as few as two or three links of the wire wrapped chain.

A final set of alternative designs it to make the chain the same way, but instead of separating the peg by 1" as we did in step 7 to separate the pegs by 3/4".  When separated by 1" the links in the chain are each about 1/2 inch long.  When the pegs are separated by 3/4" the links in the chain would be about 5/16" long.

Here are some other examples of a bracelet and matching earrings made with this chain:
